NOTICE OF RACE

ANACAPA ISLAND SERIES 2024 

This is a three race series, with no throw-out, consisting of the Anacapa Anyway April 13th, Anacapa to Port May 4th and Wes Golman Memorial (Anacapa to Starboard) August 24th. The series winner’s names in each class will be inscribed on the beautiful Anacapa Island Series Trophy, which resides in the AYC trophy case. In addition, a Wes Golemon Perpetual Trophy has been established for the Wes Golemon Memorial Race. Don't miss this challenging and exciting series. A true test of seamanship, not for the faint of heart.

TIME & DATES: Race starts at 1100 hours on Saturday April 13th, Saturday May 4th, and Saturday August 24th.

COURSES: Races will start at Mandalay buoy. 

Race 1 - will take Anacapa Island either direction. 

Race 2 will take Anacapa Island to Port. 

Race 3 will take Anacapa Island to Starboard. 

Be sure to tip your hats to Wes when rounding! Check Sailing Instructions for alternative courses.

ENTRY: Entry fee is $100 for the series and $40 for individual races. Entries must be submitted before the skippers' meeting at 1700 the day before each race. NO SKIPPERS' MEETING. PAY FOR ENTRY HERE

SOCIAL: Steaming hot soup or chili and cold beer (and other refreshments) will be waiting for all racers at the clubhouse after each race.

TROPHIES: Results will be posted after each race and personalized trophies will be awarded for each of the first two races. The Series Trophies, as well as the Wes Golemon Memorial Race Trophy, will be awarded on the Sunday after the final race. Awards Breakfast on August 25 at 10:00 am
